    06 Nov 2010 - Shocker

Mark McGhee claims Aberdeen's record 9-0 defeat would have been fifteen if it wasn't for him.

However, McGhee insists the remarkable scoreline should come as no surprise and believes clubs should be relieved that they don't suffer similar hammerings every week against the Old Firm due to the enormous gap in finances.

"We went there that day and had a team that really shouldn't even have been on the park. Go and look at the team that day, it had no right to represent Aberdeen.

The motto of the city is Bon Accord, French for "Good Agreement".
The supporters are two leopards, though in early depictions they are sometimes shown as lions. The three towers represent the three buildings that stood on the three hills of mediaeval Aberdeen: Aberdeen Castle on Castle Hill, the city gate on Port Hill, and a chapel on St Catherine's Hill. The latter two are no longer in existence.
